Perfect for our family! We had a wonderful stay! We were in town for 5 days/4 nights. Check in was easy and Michael sent us all the info we needed. We were tired after traveling and it was so nice to get in easily. The beds were comfortable and the TV was easy to work. There is a full kitchen so we were able to make ourselves breakfast, and laundry so that we were able to throw in a load when the toddler had an accident. It’s in a basement so this was great for our family who are not too tall. The shower stall is not very large so it might be a tight fit for larger people, but average size people will have no issues. There were kids books and board games and guidebooks out when we got there which was great. The crib was set up with a sheet on it in the primary bedroom. It was very thoughtfully put together and perfect for a couple or small family. We had a good experience finding parking, too. I can’t imagine a better place to stay!

Great basement apartment - close to Catholic Univ, the Shrine and Trinity. Great space -- comfy and lots of amenities. We brought our infant grandchild, and Michael had the crib and high chair set up and ready for us to use. We will definitely be back!

The place was exactly as advertised. The house is fully and thoughtfully equipped. Michael is a great host he provided a thorough house guide as well as a local guide, also very respectful and professional. Street parking but I never had problem finding parking right in front of the house. All the sightseeing, restaurants and bars are within 10- 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend the place for anyone staying in DC.

We were in DC for a few days with our dog and really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfy! Kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the doggie amenities, and Michael even left snacks for guests. Easy parking and the neighborhood was safe. The walk to the National Mall down 1st was great. We would recommend and also stay again. Our big plus is for the cleanliness, and cute and spacious set up.

My guests and myself had the Best stay in Michael's fabulously cozy and CLEAN abode. The beds were super comfy and the amenities were plentiful. We did not miss a thing. We truly felt at home and Michael was available to answer any question. I would most definitely stay here again!

We had a great time at this property! It’s about two miles north of the Capitol, so we could jog to the the Capitol on our early morning run. We felt safe walking (or running) to various places of interest (the local Whole Foods on the other side of Howard University, for example, or the Alamo Drafthouse for a movie, or one of the two nearby metro stations). The table seats four, which made for nice family meals. The unit was very clean.
There is traffic noise, which takes some getting used to when sleeping (if you’re like us and live in a rural area).
Most impressive was the attentiveness of the owner to any messages I sent. He responded to queries almost immediately. I couldn’t find the hair dryer, and he responded to my query before my hair got any drier. 😊
I definitely recommend this unit.

There is a lot to see and do in Washington, DC. Atlas Grove Stronghold is located a couple miles directly north of the US Capitol, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still close to all the excitement. There's tons to do in this iconic city, and we're in a great location for you to make the most of your family vacation.
ID verification and damage waiver
We are partnered with SuperHog, a vacation rental guest-screening provider. Shortly after confirming your reservation, you should receive an email or text message from them. You will need to verify your details and ID and pay a deposit or buy a damage waiver. All of this must be done prior to check-in, and it only takes about 5 minutes to knock it out.
Pet policy
We love dogs! For a $50 fee, our policy is to allow up to 2 well-behaved, medium-sized dogs, current on vaccines and with conscientious owners. We provide all kinds of stuff to accommodate our furry guests as well -- a medium size dog bed, food/water bowls,
paw towels for cleaning up after walks, a blanket to use on furniture, plus poo bags for cleaning up.
